Hot Shots Tennis

RED ZONE: Prep - Grade 2

Group lesson for kids aged 5 to 7 with no or little tennis experience. Players develop:

 

  • Knowing a forehand, backhand and serve

  • Contacting and controlling the ball over the net with the help of a coach

  • Rallying by playing modified games like Rolling Tennis, Big Ball Tennis and Tap-ups

  • Tracking and receiving a bouncing ball

  • Modified serving skills

  • Understanding in and out and working with a partner.

Players Progress from Red Zone to Orange Zone

ORANGE ZONE: Grade 3 - 4

Group lesson for kids aged 8 to 10 with no or little tennis experience. This level serves as a new ‘entry point’ in the pathway for older kids that want to develop their game with others at a similar age. Players develop:

 

  • Knowing a forehand, backhand and serve

  • Contacting and controlling the ball over the net with the help of a coach

  • Rallying by playing modified games like Rolling Tennis, Big Ball Tennis and Partner Tap-ups

  • Tracking and receiving a bouncing ball

  • Modified serving skills

  • Understanding in and out and working with a partner

Players progress from Orange Zone to Green Zone

GREEN ZONE: Grade 5 - 6

Group lesson for kids aged 10 to 12 with no or little tennis experience. This level serves as a new ‘entry point’ in the pathway for older kids that want to develop their game with others at a similar age. Players develop:

 

  • Knowing a forehand, backhand and serve

  • Contacting and controlling the ball over the net  with the help of a coach

  • Rallying by playing modified games with different balls

  • Tracking and receiving a bouncing ball

  • Modified serving skills

  • Understanding in and out and working with a partner

Players progress from Green Zone to the Teen Tennis or the Development Squad

YELLOW ZONE: Year 7+

Group lesson for juniors aged 12 to 16 serve and rally on a full size court. Players develop:

 

  • Sound swing shapes and contact points on groundstrokes

  • Ability to adapt direction, depth, speed and spin of the ball

  • Net play consistency and approach/volley/smash sequences

  • Improved technique, speed and placement of the serve

  • Singles and doubles court positioning and tactics

Players progress from Teens Tennis to the Competition or Performance Squad

TENNIS IN THE HOLIDAYS

CLINICS - 9am to 12pm (5 - 12yrs)

CAMPS - 1pm to 4pm (10 - 16yrs)
